Maryland Pre-Race Dinner Announced
In true Mama-fashion, the ladies will be breaking bread and other carbs for a night of nutrition fueling, laughs and relaxation the night before the York Y Tri, on Saturday, June 25 at 5:30 pm.
The dinner is a potluck dinner open to all 50 plus members of Go Mama Go team with the focus being on the ladies who will be racing the following morning. The team gathers to eat and discuss some race logistics, but mostly it is a social gathering and night of support.
Coach and Founder Megan Kearney will be on hand to tell stories and inspire the athletes and also provide the team with progressive relaxation therapy before sending them home for a good night’s rest. Johnson Selected as Maryland Team Captain
Go Mama Go Team would like to welcome Heather Johnson as our new team captain for Maryland. Johnson is no stranger to the Maryland team, and in many respects was born for this role. She held the role of board president in 2008 and 2009 which included many of the duties she’ll be carrying out.

Those duties will include: handling the administrative work and planning of events, submitting new membership information, establishing a small volunteer group to plan a series of social events throughout the season, and coordinating events with our local sponsors.
By day, Johnson is a mother of two boys, an elementary art teacher and a swim teacher with Go Mama Go Team’s local gold sponsor AquaCulture Swim School, a proud & founding supporter of the team. In her own right, Johnson is a phenomenal age group athlete, winning 2010 MD State Triathlon Challenge Female Masters Champion – Long Course division.
As the on-the-ground team go-to girl in Maryland, she’ll be playing host to the team members sponsor events, races, and social brew-ha-has! Johnson can be reached by email at mdcaptain@gomamagoteam.com.
